Lucky Brand was founded in 1990 with a spirit of reinvention. Rooted in premium denim, Americana and self-expression, this brand is for the free- thinkers and the optimists who don’t take life too seriously. For those who say, “take-me-as-I-am. Or don’t. It’s cool.”
In the beginning they experimented with vintage jeans, remixing the classic to create something new. Now they make denim AND lifestyle wares. Call it eclectic Americana for all. Their products portray personality through perfectly imperfect, often American-heritage inspired details that bring levity to any look, or situation.
Lucky Brand brings The Luckening – that sweet thing that happens during a blah day that reminds you there’s always a lighter view. We know great fitting jeans won’t change your life, but maybe they can make you feel a little luckier.
We say wear Lucky and make good fortune. Feel lucky and you’ll find it.
In the market for retail apparel, Lucky Brand stands out from competitors. Headquartered in Los Angeles, the retailer draws upon the city’s history through its catalog of vintage-inspired jeans and T-shirts alongside other Bohemian-styled clothing.
Started in 1990 in Los Angeles by Barry Perlman and Gene Montesano, Lucky Brand was founded with the aim to sell “great-fitting, vintage-inspired jeans,” according to the company. The duo looked to a wide range of influences to craft its unique denim looks in a variety of washes and with rips, tears, and hardware that set it apart from its competitors.
“Our jeans are made for the free-thinker, the artist, the dreamer; they’re made to dance, work, run, jump, play and rock ‘n’ roll (just like you),” Lucky Brand states on its website. “Our inspiration doesn’t just come from the rugged workwear of denim pioneers, but from the free spirit and laid-back lifestyle of our Southern California roots.”
Now that you’ve come to know a bit more about the brand, this review will jump right into its dependable line-up. Before we get there, take a peek at its highlights to get a feel for what’s to come.

Where denim has become one of the most loved outfits, many brands focus on just introducing new collections now and often instead of focusing on the environmental cost. However, Lucky Brand has introduced its second upcycled denim collection and other articles (featuring 43 items). The launch of the second upcycling collection means that the first collection had a good response from knowledgeable customers willing to contribute positively to climate and environmental demands.
Lucky Brand was founded in 1990 with a spirit of reinvention. Rooted in premium denim, Americana, and self-expression, Lucky brand is for the free-thinkers and optimists who do not take life too seriously.
The Fall selection encompasses many rock ’n’ roll-inspired denim items, leather jackets, and graphic tees. Lucky Brand teamed with Lars Nord Studio to create the Summer collection and selected three new independent creatives to help it create the Fall one: Diana Conklin, Sophie Cagniart, and Bel Zaiden. To launch the Upcycle collection earlier this year, Lucky Brand donated 25 percent of its revenue to FabScrap, a recycling and reuse textile service reflecting the brand’s positive attributes to improve society.
Upcycling benefits the environment by reducing the pollutants of air, land, and water pollutants in the processing of new goods and preventing additional natural resources from being used. It also reduces excess waste that would otherwise end up in landfills. Such collections using waste material are one of the many options to save the environment.
The selection of Lucky Brand for men offers different fits, styles, and washes of denim across its line of jeans, shorts, jackets, and shirts. Up next, you’ll discover the brand’s two best-selling styles of jeans.
They come in sizes 28 to 42 with inseams between 30” and 36” and are, like the ladies’, made to comfortably and flatteringly fit body types.
Buckle up because this section of the review will check out two of their absolute best-sellers…
These denim pants are the king of jeans, especially when it comes to comfort. The loose – yet not baggy – un-tapered fit is vintage in design and in color.
Along with the traditional five-pocket style and contrast stitching the medium blue color fades between the pockets and just under the knee for a natural, worn look.
They have a zip fly and one button closure and are ideal for all-day wear. Take charge in a pair of the Liverpool Jeans Regent for $40.
These jeans are where traditional style and modern technology come together in a flattering package.
Made with the Crosshatch Coolmax Technology, this pair can help regulate your temperature to keep you cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
These skinny jeans come in a dark blue with slight fading between the pockets and knees. The dark color makes them good for a casual or a more dressed-up look. The legs are fitted and taper from the top to the ankle.
Be 007 cool in these stylish jeans for $35.
Since this innovative jeans company started with ladies’ jeans, it is no surprise that they have more than 60 styles and designs to choose from. Their Jeans for women are made to cross-fit, so one pair of jeans can flatteringly fit more than one body type.
In this review, I’ll highlight a couple of best-selling denim pants to get the ball rolling…
With a silhouette-caressing shape that flatters most body types, these can be dressed up or down.
Stopping just above the ankle, these jeans bring attention to your feet, so a strappy pair of sandals, high-heeled or flat, or nice sneakers suit it best, although any high heel does it justice.
Available in sizes 24 to 35, there is a size to flatter just about any woman.
These pants have a real fly and not a fake one just for looks. They come in a choice of darker or lighter blue denim. Best of all, the four traditional pockets are all functional.
Glide into a pair of these versatile jeans for $69.
At the end of the day, women just want to feel good in their jeans. We’ll put up with a little discomfort if they make our legs look amazing, but thankfully, the High Rise Zoe Straight Jeans don’t just contour the female figure, they feel like slipping into butter…but like in the best way possible.
Hugging your hips but relaxed from the knee down, these jeans look just as great with boots as they do with heels and flats. You can pick from sizes 24-32 with an inseam of 27, 29, or 31. Stretchy but sturdy, they come in ten washes like black onyx and Inclusion Blue to switch up your look. Get a pair for $69.
Personal Review
When I initially tried these on, two things struck me. The flattering cut and how soft they are! The fabric is incredibly soft and stretchy, with a composition of 92% cotton, 6% elastomultiester, and 2% elastane. It’s also thick enough to offer you a beautiful shape and a pleasing fit. One of my major complaints with jeans with a lot of stretch is that they lose their form over time. I’ve been wearing them on a weekly basis for about a month now, and they’ve retained their form well with minimal stretching.
The Hayden Straight Leg has a 14.5′′ leg opening and is a genuine straight leg design. They hit me right at my ankles (I generally wear a 32-34′′ inseam for an ankle fit or a full length fit). These likewise feature a mid-high rise of 10′′ in the front and 14.5′′ in the back. One of the extra features is a slimming panel in the front that is meant to thin but is neither tight or unpleasant. I purchased my typical size in these and discovered that they are somewhat on the big side, but not by much.
Despite my love of dark washes, I picked the Corolla wash because I wanted something lighter for spring and summer. The wash is a lovely mid/light blue with white undertones and subtle stitching. Subtle whiskering and fading can be found along the front of the thighs and around the back towards the pockets. Wear it with white to bring out the undertones or with brighter spring hues like yellow and cobalt blue.
The attention to detail was one of the aspects of these jeans that most struck me. I adore how Lucky’s iconic 4 leaf clover motif is imprinted on both the front and back of each rivet. The pattern is repeated throughout the garment, including the front pocket lining and a little patch down the back. It’s a modest but effective touch. The coin pocket is particularly distinctive, with a slit hole and curved bottom that complements the curvature of the front pockets.
Overall, I’m amazed by how slimming these jeans are without being overly restricting or stiff. The wash is ideal for everyday use and goes well with a wide range of colors. I’m quite sure I’ll be wearing these jeans a lot this spring!
It’s hard to think that back in the day, we all wore stiff jeans like it was no big issue, as if they were truly comfy pieces of clothing. That is the worst lie I’ve ever told myself. It wasn’t until I was pulling on a stiff denim pair, getting set to return to the workplace after so many months in sweatpants, that I realized something. I deserve more than this, and that better is a pair of wonderfully comfy jeans.
I could go on about the horrors of unforgiving denim and how they’ve wreaked havoc on my body such as, wedgies. But I’d rather take this opportunity to showcase the most comfortable pair of jeans I’ve probably ever worn, ever.
Allow me to introduce you to Lucky Brand’s Easy Rider Jean, a wonderfully soft denim with a bootcut leg and an easy straight fit. My partner bought me these but they’re so nice that I’d gladly buy another set. And this is why…
The Benefits
1. They are really cozy
I put them to the ultimate test by putting them on (and sitting in them) during a whole 9 to 5 workday. And if I’m being absolutely honest, I forgot I was even wearing jeans. In order to prevent or correct a wedgie when wearing most other jeans, I find myself adjusting them when I’m sitting still. not with these bbs, though. These pants moved with me and were light enough to feel like a flexible pair of leggings since they were created of buttery-soft, extremely elastic Tencel fabric, which is manufactured from plant fibers.
2. They fit so comfortably and effortlessly
I received my usual size; this design is loose around the leg yet fits at the hips (without digging in). Even though these jeans have a tiny kick to accommodate boots, I like how they appear with sneakers or heels sticking out.
3. They have genuine distressing
The jeans have a worn-in, antique style thanks to the rips and traditional blue wash. You know, something that will always be in vogue.
4. They are *just* the right length
I can’t tell you enough how difficult it is to find pants for my 5’3″ body that aren’t a million miles long. (Pardon me, on me, all “ankle cut jeans” are just regular jeans.) The Easy Rider ones, however, are true to size and hit me squarely in the heels. Both heels and sneakers are OK for me to wear (without falling over). Additionally, the mid-rise shape is the ideal prelude to the next low-rise jean trend.
5. They are quite fashionable
I’ll admit that when Gen Z initially declared that skinny jeans are “out,” my heart ached. They do, however, have a point. These Lucky Brand wide-leg jeans are on-trend and perfect for the season. I adore the feminine boot cut and the fact that this timeless shape will be fashionable for many years to come.
The Drawbacks
1. They are not for fans of slim jeans
No, these jeans are not designed to fit like any other pair of skinnies, let’s be clear about that. All the way through the thighs, the Easy Rider has a relaxed fit, which is precisely what I desired. Although I personally prefer the appearance and feel of loose jeans, don’t worry if you’re not completely on board with the aughts denim trend. To help you ease into it, Lucky Brand has a ton of additional adorable wide-leg, flared, and bootcut designs available.

After all, the purpose of this area of our review is to help you better understand customers’ experiences with the company, which includes looking at the quality, fit, and feel of its products. When it comes to the Regular Fit Straight Leg Jeans, one buyer had this to say about them…
“Not too tight at all. Not too loose either. I’m athletic and have large thighs. So, I have to purchase 1 size larger when clothes shipping. These fit great. Love the rich color also.”
It’s difficult to tell from a photo online, but we’re relieved to see that these jeans fit athletic legs. Other consumers agreed that they were quite comfortable, praising their “excellent fit” and “feel through the seat and thighs.” These jeans look fantastic in the photo, and we’re glad to hear they function just as well.
We decided to go outside of the brand’s website and onto the World Wide Web for a little follow-up. Looking at their review page on the review site Mouth Shut, 574 buyers gave the brand an overall rating of 3.44/5 stars, claiming that its jeans are worth the price.
One remark stated, “It’s the most comfortable pair of jeans I have ever had for which I never had an urge of getting out as soon as possible which I usually have with my other pair of jeans. Go for this brand if you really want jeans which you can whole day without feeling uneasy.”
This review is typical for the company, and its collection has a wonderfully comfy style, as seen by the images. One of the primary reasons people pick this brand is for the comfort, but we also identified customers who note the outstanding quality and express their delight in the company’s stylish designs.
Amazon provides us next piece of input. We went to the internet warehouse and looked at the Men’s Relaxed Fit Straight Leg Jeans review area. With a rating of 4.5/5 stars from 3,743 customers. Here’s how that sore works…
5 stars – 71%
4 stars – 17%
3 stars – 6%
2 stars – 2%
1 star – 5%
Men aren’t generally choosy about their pants. We’ve discovered that as long as they fit nicely and don’t pinch, they’re generally content. Looking through the comments section for the Relaxed Fit Straight Leg Jeans, we discovered a slew of 5-star reviews from satisfied customers who claim they are the nicest jeans they’ve ever worn.
One client wrote, “Best jeans I’ve owned in the past 25 years…” while another said, “My new Lee jeans fit perfectly, just as I remembered. There is something about the cut of Lee jeans that makes them fit better than other brands.”
Lee Jeans are not only well-fitting, but also inexpensive and long-lasting. Many people who buy this brand appear to be loyal customers.
Overall, depending on who authored the reviews, this brand received positive praise. Women’s items tended to have lower star averages, which we believe is due to their preference for jeans. Whatever the reason, Lee Jeans is a well-known brand, despite receiving mid-range scores for several models.
Is Lee Jeans Genuine?
Lucky Brand has been in business for over 30 years. That aspect alone convinces us that this brand is genuine. Just go to any well-known shop and you’ll see a couple pairs on the racks.
Even though we know this brand is authentic, we also know that many shoppers prefer to buy something online, which not only makes it super easy, but it often means you get it for a great price—plus, you save time, gas, and tiny bits of your sanity by not being elbowed by rage-shoppers in crowded malls.
While researching review sites for this area of our review, we discovered that a few customers complained about a sluggish refund procedure and notices of out-of-stock products after purchasing. Things like this do happen with high-demand companies like this one.
If you want to prevent this risk (many people receive their goods on time), visit a Lee Jeans store or one that carries the brand.
So, Are They Worth It?
We knew Lucky Brand was a reliable and well-respected brand before we ever looked into the reviews. Why is it, you may wonder? It might be because of how many people wear its clothes, its presence in businesses we frequent, or the fact that we may or may not have owned a pair at some point in our life.
It’s not all that complex when it comes to jeans. All they actually want is something that is comfortable and fits nicely. Jeans were created specifically for this reason. According to customer reviews, Lucky Brand Jeans are not just that, but they are also reasonably priced.
If you’re searching for a fantastic pair of jeans that make you feel good, we think Lucky Brand is the way to go.
Do their Jeans stretch out?
According to the brand, their pants are made to not get baggy or stretch out.
Do they ship internationally?
Unfortunately, AYR Jeans does not ship internationally, only domestically to the United States.
Their shipping policy?
They offer free shipping in the US on orders over $75. They send you a confirmation email when your order ships so that you can track it. That’s pretty much all the information that the brand readily offers up.
Their return policy?
Lucky Brand gives you 30 days from the date of your purchase to return your order. Returns and exchanges are free, as they pay for the return shipping, and there is no restocking fee.
Typically, you can expect your money back in 5-10 business days, but due to COVD-19, it may be up to 14-21 days.
