Is Parachute Bedding Worth the Hype? My Honest Review

I’m an extremely picky sleeper, and my sleepless habits only get worse as the temperatures rise. As a native Floridian, I’m used to changing sheets, comforters, pillowcases, and more as soon as the thermostat hits a certain level, and I accept that I barely get any sleep until September. When my air conditioner broke, I broke with it, resigned to the sticky and uncomfortable feeling as the temperatures peaked.
That’s where Parachute comes in. It’s arguably the go-to direct-to-consumer brand for bedding, especially linen and percale, two of the best fabrics for freshness and coolness. Parachute’s rich hues and effortlessly crinkled texture make any bed look as sophisticated or messy as you desire—a chameleon look for every taste. The brand strikes an impressive balance between understated and casual, making it a reliable choice for any decorator. The durable quality ensures you’ll wear this set every night for years to come.
Parachute bedding makes me feel at home
These days, I’m the quintessential Gen Z telecommuter; over the past year, I’ve commuted between New York, Utah, Florida, and Hawaii, bringing a total of three suitcases of essentials and material comforts with each move. Despite my limited stash, I’ve used half of my checked luggage each time for my Parachute bedding set: duvet cover, sheets, and pillowcases. It’s been worth it every time; when I’m lonely, tired, or stressed in a strange short-term rental or sublet, I feel so much more comfortable in my coziest bedding—and that’s a key goal of the brand.

Before testing the bedding myself, I must confess that I’d seen Parachute so many times that I overlooked it, thinking it might not be worth the hype. Sure, it’s an Instagrammable brand, but would it also feel good? I’m pretty much a princess and the pea when it comes to my bed, so I immediately thought it would be more photogenic than decadent to sleep in.
Parachute launched in 2014 as an online-only company when founder Ariel Kaye spotted a gap in the home decor space. After running a design blog and hearing friends complain about finding high-quality, affordable bedding, she filled that void herself. Kaye’s focus on comfortable products also stemmed from her life in New York City; where everything was constantly in flux, her home needed to be a place where she felt peaceful and rested.
Today, the brand has several retail locations where you can shop Parachute’s premium products, including high-quality sheets, towels, robes, mattresses, rugs, and all things soft and cozy. Each product exudes refined elegance and evokes a sense of comfort from the moment you see it. It feels incredibly luxurious yet affordable.
The linen and percale sheets immediately won me over.
Since I move frequently and have lived in hot (sweltering!) climates, I finally settled on Parachute’s popular Linen Venice set (from $469) in the hopes of finding year-round bedding that would be just as comfortable in summer as it would be in the depths of winter. When my air conditioner broke and I suddenly had to rely on tower fans, I was completely distraught, but Parachute’s offerings have helped me the most in alleviating my temperature-related discomfort—and they look great too.
The sheets themselves were easy to place on my bed, and I even noticed that the duvet cover had convenient pockets, buttons, and ties at the corners and bottom, making inserting the comforter a breeze. The fitted sheet has an elastic hem and easily covered my queen-size bed and mattress topper.
The linen sheet set (from $189) is washed, which contributes to a cozy feel. From the moment I slipped into bed, I felt comfortable in my sheets and felt like I had found a new staple I could swear by. They felt cool and airy despite the summer heat. Overall, I kept coming back for more. They were just so soft and gave me a luxurious feeling every time I slipped into bed.

Parachute's Percale Sheet Set is the perfect choice for people who sweat while sleeping.
Although I tend to prefer linen, Parachute’s popular Percale Sheet Set (from $505) is heavenly for people who sweat while sleeping. I’ve never been a percale fan, but Parachute’s fabric was lightweight, breathable, and soft enough to convert me. It allows for good air circulation, so you’re not trapped by the heat in bed, without sacrificing comfort and security. The Percale Sheet Set (from $129) is fresh and cooling, creating a five-star hotel feel. Made from 100% certified long-staple Egyptian cotton and available in eight striking colors—from classic white to dreamy hues—these sheets are both lightweight and durable.
While I’d like to take good care of my bedding, I like to wash it at least weekly. As a result, I’ve had too many failures with inexpensive products that fray and sag over time. I love knowing these sheets will last. With other brands, I’ve found they fray almost immediately after the first wash. Pro tip: Parachute sheets are washer-dryer and dryer-safe, but the brand recommends using wool dryer balls instead of dryer sheets. An easy transition for me, considering how valuable they are to my sleep. I expect my sheets to last for years.
Okay, fine, I'll get the whole collection.
My pieces came à la carte: I received a linen fitted sheet (starting at $120) separately, followed by a linen pillowcase set ($69) and a linen duvet cover (starting at $280). There are countless combinations available online, so you can find the right one for your needs and budget. Parachute’s size range extends from twin to Cal King, so you’re well-equipped no matter your decor.
My first Parachute set, purchased this fall, was in Dusk, a gorgeous, cozy navy blue reminiscent of your favorite pair of jeans. This spring, I added a stunning shade of Moss, a modern, creamy green, to my collection. When combined, the colors look appealing—a testament to how Parachute cares about ensuring its bedding matches the style of the entire home.

The sheets are made from pure European flax, a linen that gets softer with each wash. I’ve been sleeping in this set since last summer and can confirm that the feel only improves with age (like, uh, your favorite pair of jeans). I previously slept in SIJO linen sheets, and in comparison, the Parachute sheets feel much smoother. The others almost feel like sandpaper in my memory. Even better: Parachute’s linen is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified, meaning it’s free from harmful chemicals, dyes, or synthetics. These sheets are piece-dyed in small batches, so each one has a unique shade.

Parachute even offers personalized styling sessions, where a staff member will guide you through the ideal combinations and products. After my initial color selection, I decided to go for something truly unique and purchased a linen duvet cover (from $280) in Coal, a deep gray-black that I thought would complement the blue tones. Almost a year later, I added another linen Venice set (from $469) in Moss, a light green. Although light green can sometimes look a bit bland, this color combination was beautiful, and I love the calm color scheme on my bed.
As mentioned, I started with the sheets and then built up an entire collection. Deciding between the items in the Parachute collection was difficult, as I was drawn to pretty much everything. Pillowcases! A lumbar pillow! The waffle bathrobe! Now that I knew the hype lived up to expectations, the question was: What would I add to my shopping cart next? (Spoiler alert: It was a dog bed for my puppy, so her sleeping space would fit in both aesthetically and comfortably.)
My favorite brands are those that add a touch of luxury to everyday life. I now think Parachute is at the top of that list.

Five reasons to love Parachute bedding:
Founder Ariel Kaye’s bedding philosophy is inspired by her travels to the Amalfi Coast, where the bedding was luxurious. Parachute was born when she realized that most similar sheets in the US were saturated with chemicals, thus requiring an Oeko-Tex certified brand.
Parachute encourages mixing and matching; the brand’s color palette is so cohesive and offers a wide range of colors that everything works well together.
Parachute products are manufactured in a family-run factory in northern Portugal, which uses both modern and traditional techniques to ensure the highest quality.
The brand is also certified carbon neutral, meaning it’s actively taking steps to become circular. You can find a list of its commitments (and statistics!) here.
If you’re having to choose between the many competing bedding brands, Parachute also offers a 60-day return policy. This way, you can get some sleep before you commit. A little warning: You won’t want to let her go.
