AG Jeans manufactures all of its products in-house. This means that the jeans are manufactured entirely in its own factories. The company currently has three production sites: two in California and one in Mexico City.
Goldschmieded founded Diesel and is considered the “Godfather of Denim.” He invented premium denim and developed it from its humble beginnings as a worker’s fabric into a luxurious fabric that can be worn dressed up or down as needed. He hasn’t been with the company since 2004, after Yul Ku acquired his stake, but his design principles and commitment to quality live on.
Yul Ku began his career in the denim world by establishing a manufacturing facility that supplied products for some of the biggest fashion brands, including Lucky Brand, Gap, and Abercrombie & Fitch. In 2008, he appointed his son, Samuel Ku, as AG’s Creative Director. The younger Ku brought a completely new vision to the brand and spearheaded the release of boyfriend jeans, which can still be found in many women’s wardrobes today.

Under the Kus, AG Jeans is a fashion industry leader in adopting sustainable production technologies. Distressing denim was traditionally done with harsh chemicals that were unsafe for workers and the environment. Over the years, AG has introduced sustainable techniques, including the reuse of heat and lasers for distressing, to protect the environment, employees, and customers.
Finally, it’s important to consider the brand’s partnerships. One of its biggest collaborations was a 2015 deal with Alexa Chung, the brand’s most beloved style icon, to create a line of jeans inspired by the ’60s and ’70s. The collection sold out quickly, and Chung/AG collaborations remain highly sought-after. However, AG Denim doesn’t just focus on partnerships with celebrities or influencers. The brand has also collaborated with various charities over the years to give back to people around the world. One of its biggest collaborations was a year-long partnership with Water for People in 2019. Thanks to proceeds from the Blanda collaboration, the brand donated $100,000 to the organization. During the pandemic, the brand donated $1 million to help clinics and hospitals serve as many people as possible.
Honestly, as soon as you put on a pair of AG jeans, you’ll immediately feel a difference. This is due to three main factors: cut, fabric, and stretch. We’ll cover stretch in the next section, but cut and fabric deserve special attention.
Cut – girl, we’ve all been there. You’ve found the pair of jeans you think are perfect. They look like they’ll fit like a glove, without leaving any room at the waist or making your butt look saggy. You’re ready to take on the day. Then you try them on and are disappointed. They look like your boyfriend is wearing them. The problem? They’re cut wrong.
When we feature AG Denim, the main thing we hear about is the wide range of cuts. Currently available are:

That’s a lot, but keep in mind that the brand also offers all of these styles in different rises, including low-, mid-, and high-rise jeans. That alone makes 24 different cuts!
A brand can offer many different cuts, but if they don’t suit your body type, they’re no good. AG Denim jeans are tailored to the female figure, not the straight, bias cut many expect from jeans. By tailoring their cut to fit the female figure, AG Denim creates a flattering silhouette that will make you look great (and accentuate your butt). Thanks to the various cuts that fit your body, you’ll find the right fit and rise that flatters your figure. You no longer have to worry about whether a pair of pants will fit your body. You can simply move on to the next rise or cut until you find the perfect pair of jeans that you’ll wear for years to come. With AG Denim, it really is that easy.
Fabric – Hear us out, but we have a different story to tell. Once again, you find the perfect pair of pants on the rack. Just like the last pair of pants, you expect them to fit perfectly… and they do! The problem? The denim feels like sandpaper against your skin, and you know the moment you bend over in them, the seams will rip.
This is a common problem with cheap denim. Since manufacturers are always trying to cut costs, they use extremely cheap fabrics. Reinforcement? None. This denim is supposed to last until your next paycheck before you have to buy a new one. High-quality stitching? None. These jeans are made from imported denim and quickly machine-sewn with cheap synthetic thread. Comfortable? If by comfortable you mean a scratchy, itchy feeling, then yes! These jeans are great! But that buttery-soft feel of premium denim? Haha. Impossible.
AG Denim’s ultimate goal was to create denim that can withstand anything and still feel great. This means you get the durability of name-brand jeans like Levi’s paired with the super-soft feel of quality denim. You get not only durability and quality, but also longevity. With proper care (following washing instructions), your jeans can be passed down for generations. Jeans with Stretch

We’re big fans of stretch in jeans for several reasons. The most important one? It ensures a great fit! But again, it’s important to consider what happens with inferior quality.
Have you ever worn jeans that actually feel like leggings? We’re not talking about jeggings here. Let’s be honest: What material are these jeans made of? The thing is, they’re soft, but they have way too much stretch to last. If the stretch content in denim is too high, these jeans will lose their shape. You might wash them a few times, but eventually they’ll become unusable pants.
On the other hand, there are also jeans with too little stretch. These jeans don’t offer the flattering fit that makes your butt look great and sits at your waist. Instead, they fit more like 100% denim jeans. While this looks great and lasts a long time, it’s not always comfortable if you’re walking around a lot, bending over, or eating a large meal.
AG Denim offers just the right amount of stretch for a perfect fit without the jeans losing their look after a few wears. Because the stretch isn’t too minimal, they also fit comfortably. Thanks to this exclusive blend of stretch and denim, you won’t find any other jeans with a fit quite like AG Denim’s. That’s why we regularly rank them among our top recommendations for anyone looking to explore the world of premium denim.
